Under normal circumstances, there is a nice breakfast buffet as well, but it wasn’t available for my stay. The suite was more like a well appointed studio apartment (the kitchen had all sorts of utensils, plates, glasses, frig and even a dishwasher!).in light of concerns over covid and cleanliness, I was again, pleasantly surprised at the detail Home 2 Suites took to make sure guests feel safe and that all environments are covid clean and compliant with guidelines. The only comment is that it isn’t conveniently close to any walkable restaurants or shopping, but that wasn’t an issue for me as I was only there for a short time and door dash is an easy solution for a dinner if one didn’t want to leave the property. Home 2 Suites is located outside of Cleveland in a corporate park (mostly deserted due to pandemic closures of offices and in-person corporate activity ). My expectations were exceeded from the moment I arrived with easy and organized check-in, friendly and helpful greeting, convenient parking and location of my first floor room, as well as making my dog feel very welcome with her own food and water bowls. After looking at lots of reviews for dog friendly places that fit my preference for location and proximity to I -80 I landed at Home 2 Suites. I chose this property for a stay over on the long drive from Chicago to Connecticut with my golden retriever. The front desk was always happy and cheerful to give you the towels and coffee but when you come in late and have to check your room for what you did not get and go back downstairs to get them it is frustrating. Either they need to change these materials or instruct the staff of their promises to guests.
This would not be so frustrating except they highlighted these things on paper when we checked in, it is on the mirror in the bathroom and in the flip book in the room on the page called squeaky clean. Coffee was not refreshed daily, towels left on the floor were not always replaced even on weekdays.

After 12 nights the sheets and a full clean only happened once. I asked the woman to see one of the sheets and it very clearly says “Full clean services take place every 5th day of your stay, including weekends. After 6 nights when the sheets had not been changed I asked at the front desk and was told they only do a full clean on Wednesday’s. They only did this 3 times out of 12 days. Both light and full say the refresh coffee. The paper went on to describe what they call light touch services. We were going to be here 12 nights do that was good to know.
Next she highlighted the full clean schedule and told us a full clean happens on the 5 th day. When I checked in I was given a sheet describing the amenities and the person behind the desk told us the property is different from other hotels when it comes to housekeeping. This property is well designed and the rooms are very nice.
